Molds are a very common tool in modern industry. Although the molds are classified into many types, their functions are similar in general: depending on their own shape, the materials with certain plasticity or fluidity also become specific shapes by certain means, and the die-casting molds are in the mold. On the basis of the die casting process, die casting is a metal casting process, which is characterized by the use of a mold cavity to apply high pressure to the molten metal. Molds are usually machined from higher strength alloys, some of which are similar to injection molding. Most die castings are iron-free, such as zinc, copper, aluminum, magnesium, lead, tin, and lead-tin alloys and alloys thereof. Depending on the type of die casting, a cold chamber die casting machine or a hot chamber die casting machine is required.

The difference between die-casting molds and ordinary molds is that the basic difference between injection molds and die-casting molds is that the materials are different. One is plastic and the other is alloy, so the die-casting mold has to bear much more pressure and temperature than the plastic mold. The structure needs to be strengthened, the way of feeding, the flow path, and the cooling design are different. The following die-casting molds and injection mold steels are referred to as hot work die steels. This is the most basic difference. Another difference is that the injection pressure of the die-casting mold is large, so the template is required to be relatively thick to prevent deformation. Compared with the injection mold, the matching fit of the die-casting mold is larger because of the die-casting process. High temperature will cause thermal expansion. If the gap is too small, the mold will be stuck, and the die-casting mold is the three major elements of die-casting production. The so-called die-casting process is to organically combine these three elements to enable the stable, rhythmic and efficient production of qualified castings, even high-quality castings, with the appearance, good internal quality, dimensional conforming to drawings or agreements.
